Our nationally accredited CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health is designed to equip you with a broad understanding of mental health, which will allow you to make a huge difference in people’s well-being. Unlock diverse career opportunities and begin a meaningful career in mental health today. This course will touch on some small components of psychology, such as understanding the different types of mental illness. However, the job roles are quite different. A psychologist tends to focus more on mental and emotional well-being issues, whilst a mental health support worker will focus more on “outward” problems around practical and social support like housing, daily tasks of living, communication and managing medical appointments. This course can be a pathway for anyone who wishes to complete a health-related qualification at a higher level or is seeking a traineeship. The course provides fundamental skills required by the health industry in writing, literacy, and numeracy in a health related context. This course equips graduates to provide a range of community services promoting mental health wellness and recovery, focusing on rehabilitation and support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability. Entry Recommendations We recommend that applicants with no or limited knowledge or skills in community services study a Certificate III in Community Services before this course. Attendance Requirements (subject to change) This course is delivered through a blend of two compulsory on-campus workshops a week, and online study.Workshops are usually from 9.30 to 4.00pm, and occasionally from 9.00 to 5.00pm.
