Our nationally recognised HLT35021 Certificate III in Dental Assisting is just what you need to begin an exciting career in the dental industry. Train in critical areas, such as infection control, patient management, oral health education, and dental procedures, and enjoy the great job prospects coming your way. You will be required to complete a minimum of 350 hours of work placement in 2 blocks. This may be completed as a block or part-time depending on organisation requirements. Work placement block 1 can only be commenced after successful completion of Modules 1 – 4 inclusive. Work placement block 2 can only be commenced after successful completion of Modules 6 – 8 inclusive. The Advanced Diploma of Oral Health (Dental Hygiene) is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge on graduation to apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to work as a dental hygienist in both private and government sectors in accordance with the legislative provisions and contemporary dental hygiene practice and theory. Attendance Requirements (subject to change) This course is full time with classes 4 -5 days a week. You may study part time in the first year. Second year is full time only. If successful, you will attend a week of on-campus orientation. Industry Conditions and Skills Skills and attributes that will help you include working effectively with other health professionals, collecting, analysing and interpreting data; keeping a high level of professionalism, showing leadership and mentoring, showing professional and accountable work practices.

Dental Technicians work in a laboratory, constructing, repairing and adjusting dental appliances, under the prescription of dentists, dental prosthetists or dental specialists. You will learn how to make dentures and other dental appliances including crowns, bridges, mouthguards, sleep appliances, pre- and post-oral and maxillofacial surgical devices, and orthodontic appliances.
