Certificate IV in Surveying and Spatial Information Services (Surveying)
Get started in surveying with the Certificate IV. This nationally recognised qualification will show you how to work under limited supervision to aid in the collection, processing and presentation of data in the areas of mining, engineering, construction, hydrography, aerial mapping, geographic information systems and land surveying. Learn about collecting spatial data, using specialist software applications, performing simple surveying tasks, producing basic survey plans, operating surveying equipment, producing CAD drawings, and reading and interpreting maps for survey work. You’ll graduate ready to work as a survey assistant with theoretical learning and hands-on skills. Further your career by studying the Diploma of Surveying. Additional Uniforms, Equipment and Costs Approximately $100 for Survey Field Accessories Pack (specialised plumb bob, 30m steel tape, staff level bubble). Students will source their own hand tools (claw hammer, 8m tape measure, field bag/tool belt), stationary (clip board, pencils, pens, ruler, USB storage), PPE (Hi-vis long sleeve shirt and/or vest/wet/cool weather equivalent, long pants, steel capped boots, hat, gloves, safety glasses/sunglasses).
