About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Electrical Engineer to join our Renewables Engineering division.

Reporting to the Lead Engineer – Battery Storage and Gas, you will be responsible for the provision of asset management and reliability analysis to ensure performance, asset risks and regulatory requirements are identified and effectively managed across our operational renewable assets, particularly battery storage sites.

The role can be based in either Melbourne or Newcastle.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess performance of assets, address any technical issues and proactively work with all stakeholders to deliver timely solutions.
  • Support and lead asset related investigations including formal Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE programs.
  • Maintain effective working relationship with Regulatory Agencies by timely response to issues within the National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Support projects including liaison with contractors, project manager and project reporting.
  • Support Engineering, Procure and Construct (EPC) contract negotiations.

About you

You are either an established Electrical Engineer with renewables energy experience who is looking for a new challenge or someone who is ready to take the next step in their Engineering career and learn within a large organisation leading the Energy Transition.
In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered Professional Engineer or working towards chartership
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of Asset Management Principles.
  • Technical experience with power generation assets (preferably renewables) is highly desirable.
