  • Base hourly rate $34.51 (incl Industry Allowance) plus superannuation

The Role

Duties

You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the City of Greater Bendigo. You will undertake a range of duties including:

  • Street cleaning: working as part of a team to complete daily tasks for the presentation of the city
  • Operating and maintaining plant including suction sweepers, blowers, heavy vehicles and medium rigid trucks
  • Delivery, collection and repair of garbage bins
  • Reliving other team members with operating garbage compaction vehicles and suction sweeping plant

The position works Monday to Friday, from 5am - 1.30pm with some weekend work also available. You will start and finish your day at our Adam Street Depot, Golden Square and travel in the Bendigo region.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Skills and experience in the safe operation of heavy machinery including small and large sweepers, side loaders and/or rear loader garbage trucks
  • A customer service focus with good communication skills
  • Basic administration and computer skills
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a team and independently

This position requires a pre employment medical, satisfactory police records check and a current driver’s licence with Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement.
