Position Description

Classification: ANU Officer 6/7 (Administration)
Salary package: $98,387 - $113,252 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Full-time, Continuing

The Position

The Analytics & Data Developer position will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data models, reporting solutions, and analytics services aligned with the University’s Data, Information Management and Integration Strategy.

You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, data warehouse solutions, and business intelligence outputs that support institutional reporting and analytics including:

  • Design and develop data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse solutions, aligned with best practice methodologies (e.g. Kimball)
  • Translate business requirements into data models, mappings, and reporting artefacts
  • Develop and test business intelligence reports and dashboards
  • Maintain and enhance metadata and documentation standards
  • Provide technical support and guidance through collaboration with stakeholders across the University
  • Contribute to the development of data and BI standards, processes, and governance practices
  • Track task progress through tools such as jira and update documentation using confluence

The Person

We welcome applications from strong data developers or BI developers, ideally with the ability to work across the full data lifecycle - from data pipeline and data model development through to reporting and visualisation. Candidates with experience spanning both data engineering and BI/reporting will be particularly well regarded.

The candidate skills that we are seeking include experience in Business Analytics tools such as Power BI, Cognos or similar tools and/or candidates who have data engineering experience in tools such as python and SQL.

The Division

The Planning, Data & Analytics Division supports ANU’s strategic and performance objectives through the delivery of trusted data, insights, and analytics. The Division drives the University’s Data, Information Management and Integration Strategy 2023–2026, modernising data platforms and strengthening data governance, quality, and accessibility across the institution.

The Data Provisioning, Analytics & Governance (DPAG) team is responsible for institutional data architecture, data warehousing, and enabling evidence-based decision-making through modern analytics platforms and services.
