The Role
Radio National is seeking an experienced and curious senior Producer to join the team on a fixed‐term contract of approximately 12 months. This role will see you research, originate and produce high‐quality, distinctive audio journalism that deepens audience understanding of Australia and the world.
Working with some of Australia's best journalists, you’ll research and develop original story ideas, produce interviews and segments, and deliver engaging audio content to broadcast deadlines. Working collaboratively with presenters, producers and technical teams, you’ll deliver polished audio production to tight deadlines. You’ll build and maintain networks of contacts across journalism, academia, policy, diplomacy and the broader Australian and international community.
As interviews take place across different time zones, the role will require a mix of AM and PM shifts between 7:00am and 7:00pm.

About You
You’re an accomplished audio producer with strong research, writing and scripting skills, and a passion for international affairs, global politics, culture and ideas. You’re confident leading story development, pitching fresh ideas and turning complex topics into compelling audio storytelling.
You work well in fast‐paced environments, meet tight deadlines, and enjoy collaborating with others to produce great content. You bring a commitment to diversity and inclusion in storytelling, align with the ABC’s values, and approach your work with integrity, curiosity and professionalism.
