The Role

  • Engaging with residents, encouraging and supporting them to engage in the outing

  • Putting equipment (e.g. mobility aids) and resident shopping into the bus

  • Folding and unfolding mobility aids

  • Staying with residents to allow staff to attend to other's needs

  • Aiding residents with simple mobilisation including pushing a resident in a wheelchair (where trained to do so)

  • Share feedback with the Lifestyle Officer / Lifestyle Coordinator at the end of your shift

  • Deliver a high level of customer service, including the timely provision of agreed services to residents

  • Drive in accordance with road and safety requirements maintaining due care at all times

To be successful:

  • MR class licence for driving buses of 22 passenger capacity or less

  • Previous experience using lifting equipment and assistive devices (desirable)

  • Ability to use computer software (Word and Excel)

  • Experience with wheelchair access vehicles and wheelchair tie down system, (desirable)

  • NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)

  • Complete a police check
