About the role:

We’re seeking a dedicated Day Roster Officer to join our Bulk West team in Welshpool on a 13-month parental leave contract (3 days per week).

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing crew rosters, supporting operational planning, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources for scheduled services based on operational requirements.
  • Service Plan Management: Assist with managing changes to service plans, asset loading, and resource allocations. Address customer requirements and impacts of major disruptions.
  • Roster Management: Ensure safety-compliant crew rosters are accurate, entered into systems, and maintained to meet operational needs.
  • Crew Deployment: Place competent operational employees on rosters and monitor their deployment to meet operational demands.
  • Fatigue Management: Monitor fatigue management in line with rostering principles.
  • Customer Service Support: Aid the deployment team by handling phone calls and administrative tasks to provide excellent customer service.
  • Train List Information: Provide accurate and timely train list information to customers.

About you:

  • Proven ability to use rostering, crew allocation, and operational systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • A collaborative team player with a results-driven mindset
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Sound analytical and time management skills
  • Experience interpreting industrial instruments (e.g. Enterprise Agreements)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
