Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)
Salary Range: Base Salary $93,992 - $100,333 per annum + super
Location: Garbutt Operations Centre - Garbutt

This role is responsible for overseeing the business and administrative work that supports the Water team, making sure systems, processes and reporting run smoothly and support day‑to‑day operations. You will work closely with section managers to improve processes, solve problems and provide practical business support that helps the team deliver services efficiently.
The role includes coordinating performance reporting, tracking KPIs and analysing results so issues can be identified and improvements made. You will also work with other Council teams to ensure business services are delivered consistently and effectively, and support contract and commercial activities by providing advice, helping manage risks, and maintaining good working relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
Qualifications And Experience
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications such as Bachelor of Business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven ability to lead and manage administrative teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Experience in process improvement, business optimization, and implementing operational changes to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
- Solid understanding of local government frameworks, including procurement processes, risk management, and contract management.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with relevant business systems (e.g., CES, ECM, EAM) to support reporting, data analysis, and decision-making.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances, ensuring business continuity during disruptions or emergencies.
