Permanent and temporary full-time and/or part-time positions

Staff Specialist – up to 80 hours per fortnight

Visiting Medical Officer – up to 64 hours per fortnight

We are looking for exceptional Otolaryngology consultants to join our Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department as a Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.

The ENT department are currently looking for consultants in the following areas:

  • Rhinology
  • General ENT surgeon

As a Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Staff Specialist employee your salary includes:

Base salary comprising of between:

  • L18 – L24 Staff Specialist
    • $103.79 - $120.56 p.h. (p/t)
    • $8,303.90 - $9,645.40 p.f. (f/t)
  • L25 – L27 Senior Staff Specialist
    • $124.12 - $131.60 p.h. (p/t)
    • $9,930.20 - $10,528.40 p.f (f/t)

Standard allowances (additional to base salary):

  • Motor vehicle allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
    • $23,395 p.a. (L18 - L24 Staff Specialist)
    • $28,408 p.a. (L25 – L27 Senior Staff Specialist)
  • Professional development allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
    • $22,145 p.a.
  • Attraction and Retention Allowance up to 50% of base salary
  • Overtime and on-call allowances (paid by exception - SMO only)
  • Generous superannuation of up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Annual leave loading

As a Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Visiting Medical Officer employee your salary includes:

Base salary comprising of between:

  • $201.04 - $219.93 p.h. VS1-VS4 (Visiting Specialist)
  • $238.93 p.h. VSS1 (Senior Visiting Specialist)

Standard allowances (additional to base salary):

  • VMO Fuel Allowance up to $2,350 p.a.
  • Professional Development Allowance up to $5,000 p.a.
  • Tier 2 payment based on on-call requirements
  • Generous superannuation of up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Annual leave loading

* To be employed by Queensland Health as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO), you must have ongoing private practice costs. This is a mandatory employment requirement.
