The Role

Land Systems Division is seeking APS 5 Project Schedulers who are looking for a new challenge as part of an energetic multi-disciplinary team, to deliver Australian Defence Force systems at the leading edge of Defence capability.

In this role, you will apply project controls methodologies using appropriate performance measurement techniques, and analyse information to understand how decisions and recommendations impact project outcomes. The role involves preparing reports, briefs and planning documentation, and providing advice consistent with relevant policies and procedures. You will build and sustain effective working relationships with stakeholders, actively contribute to team activities, and provide constructive input to achieve goals.

Under limited direction, you will collaborate closely with project team members and broader stakeholders to perform complex planning and scheduling work. You will be accountable for compliance with relevant legislation and policy, and responsible for organising your workflow and making independent decision within your area of responsibility.

About our Team

Land Systems Division’s (LSD) mission is to acquire and support capability that enables the ADF to generate and sustain deployable Land power for an integrated force, in peace and war. We aim to be agile, innovative and outcomes-focused as we collaborate closely with the Services and industry to deliver the latest equipment to maximise ADF performance.

The APS 5 Project Scheduler will support the team in delivering complex project controls functions within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring compliance with legislative and policy frameworks. The team provides informed analysis and advice, coordinates workflows and support the effective delivery of Defence capability outcomes.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is an organised and analytical project professional within an integrated workforce, who would benefit from prior experience in Project Controls. They demonstrate sound judgement and initiative, working under limited direction while managing competing priorities and delivering quality outcomes. With a strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy frameworks, government decision-making processes and Defence requirements, they confidently interpret guidance and provide accurate, well-reasoned advice within the project control function.

They are skilled in research, analysis and review activities, and provide reliable procedural and administrative support to achieve results. A collaborative team member, they coordinate tasks in line with work plans, support colleagues in achieving objectives, and contribute to a positive team culture. Where required, they set priorities, allocate work and support performance improvement.

The ideal candidate communicates effectively with stakeholders, builds productive working relationships, and remains committed to continuous learning and professional development.
