Your opportunity to join us at Thomastown

We are seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join our Further Processing Site in Thomastown. The ideal candidate will be flexible with start times, and willing to undertake weekend overtime when required.

Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time role that will operate over our morning shift 6am – 2.30pm

Daily Tasks:

• Attending to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely manner
• Reduce reactive maintenance and proactively improve unplanned downtime
• Assisting in developing and introducing maintenance programs to support all internal stakeholders
• Ensure the execution of safety standards and quality assurance practices into all repairs and maintenance activities
• Identifying and escalating Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks
• Take personal responsibility to ensure livestock is treated humanely by self and others

You will bring to this role:

• Australian recognised Mechanical Trades qualification
• Experience in servicing, repair, and maintaining various equipment, including but not limited to automated packing machinery, conveyors, hydraulics, and more, in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably further processing or food and beverage industry
• Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety practices
• Experience in fault finding on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Essential tickets - forklift license, scissor lift, EWP (11m), confined space
• Experience in breakdown as well and preventive maintenance
• Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
• Proven skills in the areas of attention to detail, information processing and problem solving with the ability to multitask
• Experience with Maximo as a CMMS would be an advantage
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
