About the Role

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Leading Hand Maintenance Fitter to join our high-performing Maintenance Workshop team at Maules Creek. This is a day-shift only role, working Monday to Friday, offering a great work-life balance. We have an ultra-class fleet of mining equipment including CAT and Hitachi machinery.

In this hands-on leadership position, you’ll play a key role in guiding and mentoring a team of fitters, driving safety, quality, and efficiency across workshop operations. It’s the perfect opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role or further develop their frontline leadership capability

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach and support a team of fitters, setting the standard for safety, performance and attitude
  • Execute planned, breakdown and corrective maintenance to keep the workshop running at its best
  • Champion a strong safety culture by reporting and managing hazards, incidents and risks
  • Proactively inspect equipment, identify defects and raise quality job requests
  • Step up to supervise during shutdowns, ensuring work is delivered safely and efficiently

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Mechanical, Auto Electrical, Electrical or Heavy Fabrication)
  • Current, unrestricted NSW “C” Class Driver’s Licence
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Extensive experience working with heavy equipment
