We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Natural Assets Ranger to support on‑ground pest management activities, land regeneration and fire management, whilst working alongside experienced land management staff.

What We Are Looking For:

As a Natural Assets Ranger, you will enjoy undertaking a diverse range of tasks, ensuring that no two days are ever the same! Works undertaken by the Natural Assets Management Team are spread across the region from Waugh’s Pocket in the South to Ellis Beach in the North. Your role is focused on pest plant and animal management along with seasonal fire management, revegetation and native wildlife activities. You will liaise and assist in working with the community in a range of land management practices for a variety of issues impacting the natural environment and our community. This opportunity is ideally suited to someone looking to build a long-term career in the Natural Assets Team. What You Will Be Doing

• Assisting with a wide range of land management activities, primarily pest plant and animal control
• Operating herbicide spray equipment in line with licence and safety requirements
• Supervising volunteers and temporary staff during land regeneration and protection works
• Monitoring, recording and reporting on work sites and any non‑conformance issues
• Supporting on‑ground projects with external agencies and other Council teams
• Contributing to improved work methods to meet quality and safety standards
• Participating in community engagement events and providing excellent customer service
• Supporting vector (mosquitoes) operations during peak periods
• Participating in rostered on‑call, standby and out‑of‑hours response for wildlife and arson incidents
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, sustainably and recorded in Council systems
