About the role

The Principal House Officer provides clinical services in a service that is innovative, encourages participation in treatment and care aimed at achieving demonstratable improvement in patient outcomes. You will be supported and encouraged to expand your education and training in inpatient and emergency medicine in a rural context and become an important member of a dynamic and passionate rural generalist team.

What we're looking for

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Passion for providing excellent clinical care to your community as a Principal House Officer.
  • Experience in delivering quality care in a primary care environment, outpatients setting, and an Emergency Department across a variety of acuity and care needs.
  • Knowledge and practical application of the National Quality & Safety Standards through the delivery of safe and quality focussed patient centred care.
  • Excellent communication and team work skills across a variety of settings including in an emergency.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 (PDF)
  • Appointment t this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
