| --- | --- | --- | Financial Accountant Sydney - West | *** Full time * Salary * Office based role in Olympic Park** Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is primarily responsible for financial accounting, internal reporting and Statutory Compliance. It is ideally suited to a Candidate with 3+ years of relevant experience within a mid to large sized business and proven exposure to financial accounting, taxation and statutory obligations. The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting standards and tax compliance, with the ability to dive into detail without losing sight of the big picture. You will bring energy, a positive attitude, and a commitment to adding value to the accounting function and broader business. This includes performing duties diligently, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting statutory reporting and compliance requirements. To succeed in this role, you will need experience in accounting for a mid to large size business, desire to make a valuable contribution to the accounting functions as well as our business by attending to your duties diligently, contributing to continuous improvements and assisting with our statutory reporting and compliance requirements. Job Duties/Essential Functions * Prepare income tax returns and disclosures, ensuring timely submission with all relevant supporting documentation in full compliance with Australian and New Zealand tax laws and regulations. * Involve in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and review related calculations to ensure alignment with established methodologies and regulatory standards. * Handle tax effect accounting, including provisions, deferred tax, and related quarterly reporting. * Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) in a timely manner and perform GST apportionment analysis to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. * Prepare annual consolidated financial statements, ESG reporting, and related disclosures. * Review and analyze P&L movements and variances to provide meaningful commentaries. * Responsible for periodical forecasting and annual budget preparation. * Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documents and follow up on outstanding items. * Coordinate internal and external audit requests and assist in resolving audit issues. * Participate in developing and implementing appropriate internal control policies and procedures. * Participate in system enhancement projects to improve internal controls and drive efficiency. * Supervise an assistant accountant. * Perform ad-hoc duties as required. Qualifications : * Education/Experience: * Tertiary education in Accounting,business, or Commerce * CA/CPA qualified preferred, but not essential * Experience Skills * Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar role of mid to large-size organization * Strong MS Excel Skills highly desirable * Experience in Power BI and Onestream applications is an advantage * Strong technical skills in Australian and New Zealand Accounting Standards and tax requirements * A problem solver with strong logical and analytical thinking * Proactive and adaptable, with a collaborative mindset to support team success * Self-driven and highly organized, capable of maintaining professionalism and effectiveness under pressure * Skilled in planning and prioritization within dynamic, fast-paced environments * Exceptional communicator with strong business partnering capabilities across functions * Demonstrates a consistently positive, solutions-focused attitude Other Specific requirements: |
