Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on Cloud & Infrastructure Manager to lead and support our technology platforms across Hungry Jack’s.

This role sits at the centre of our operations, supporting a national footprint of 480+ restaurants, 5 support offices and 25,000+ employees. With many locations operating extended hours (including 24/7), the reliability of our infrastructure is critical.

You’ll lead a small, capable team while remaining close to the tech, actively involved in design, problem-solving and delivery. This is not a purely strategic role; it’s suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on while also driving direction and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure systems are secure, stable and performing optimally across restaurants, support offices and cloud platforms
  • Manage core infrastructure including servers, networks, SD-WAN, end user compute, backups and storage

Operations & Service Reliability

  • Work closely with service delivery teams to ensure reliable, responsive support across the business
  • Oversee incident resolution, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain high availability across a large, operationally critical environment

Cloud, Security & Governance

  • Manage hybrid cloud environments (Azure), including performance and cost optimisation
  • Implement and maintain security controls (IAM, patching, vulnerability management, DR)
  • Maintain practical, fit-for-purpose policies and standards

Vendor & Commercial Management

  • Manage key vendors, managed service providers and SaaS partners
  • Ensure services are delivered to agreed standards and represent value for the business
  • Monitor and manage Azure and infrastructure costs, including licence optimisation

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and mentor a small Infrastructure team , setting clear expectations and supporting development
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for stakeholders across the business
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Stay close to restaurant operations and understand how systems impact day-to-day performance

Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to budgeting and financial planning (Opex & Capex)
  • Provide regular, practical reporting on system performance and risks
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, improve and modernise the environment

About You

Experience & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong experience in a similar hands-on infrastructure/cloud role
  • Solid background across enterprise infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure, servers, networking (SD-WAN), M365, backups and security
  • Experience managing vendors and external service providers

Key Capabilities

  • Hands-on technical capability with a willingness to stay involved in the detail
  • Practical problem solver who can operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to balance delivery, support and improvement work
  • People leadership skills, with experience leading or mentoring small teams
