Based in New South Wales, Narrabri is our only underground mine and produces high quality thermal coal for export customers. About The Role:

As an experienced General Manager, you are accountable for the strategic operational leadership to ensure the safety, production, financial, and people activities on site align to budget and strategic plan for Whitehaven Coal. Responsible for all underground, surface operations and coal processing site activities, you will ensure effective and optimised commercial management of the mine plan ensuring production and mine cost is managed to budget. Your leadership will drive team performance, maintain exceptional safety standards, and support the successful execution of mine plans, budgets, and forecasts.

What You'll Do:

• Provide strategic leadership across all functions on site, fostering a positive and collaborative culture to achieve budget
• Manage, execute and lead mine development and production operations to production efficiency and resources to achieve production and quality targets safely
• Lead and support a safety-first culture as an integral part of ‘the way we work’
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of mining operations supervisory staff

What You'll Bring:

• Ideally, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications together with extensive experience in underground mine operations
• Proven leadership experience in a similar role, ideally with longwall operations
• A solid understanding of safety and a commitment to implementing a safety culture across the site
• First Class Mine Managers Certificate
