We’re looking for a Lease Contract Specialist

An opportunity to join Stockland’s Investment Management business – Lease Management team, supporting the leasing function across our national Town Centres property portfolio.

Based at our Sydney Head Office with flexible working arrangements, this role is suited to a senior lease administrator or paralegal who enjoys high‑volume landlord‑side leasing documentation, strong stakeholder engagement and balancing legal integrity with commercial outcomes.

What You’ll Do

You’ll play a critical role in enabling leasing outcomes by managing end‑to‑end lease documentation and supporting the business to deliver timely, compliant and commercially sound transactions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing leasing documentation across the Town Centres portfolio, including drafting, negotiating and finalising leases, licences and related documents.
  • Providing expert advice on documentation requirements, risks and obligations, supporting informed commercial decisions.
  • Partnering closely with Leasing, Asset Management, Group Legal and other stakeholders to progress transactions efficiently.
  • Liaising with external legal advisers, monitoring service levels and supporting quality and turnaround expectations.
  • Ensuring documentation complies with relevant legislation and Stockland’s risk and governance frameworks.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, precedents, systems and ways of working across the leasing lifecycle.
  • Building strong internal and external relationships to support a coordinated, end‑to‑end leasing model.

About You

You are a detail‑focused leasing professional who brings sound judgement, ownership and a practical mindset to your work. You enjoy translating legal concepts into clear, workable solutions and thrive in fast‑paced environments with high stakeholder interaction.

You’re looking for a role where your leasing expertise is valued and where you can contribute to continuous improvement within a collaborative team.

Experience & Skills That Count

  • Proven experience in commercial or retail leasing, either in‑house (landlord side) or within a legal practice.
  • Track record managing high‑volume leasing documentation across complex property portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of leases and contracts, ideally within the property industry.
  • Working knowledge of Australian retail leasing legislation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight timeframes.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Interest in process improvement, systems and smarter ways of working.

The Right Mindset

  • Commercial, practical and solutions focused
  • Collaborative and open to sharing knowledge
  • Committed to delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused outcomes
