The role

This is a hands-on, role where you will lead injury management and return-to-work outcomes across Huon.

You’ll partner closely with leaders, employees, and external stakeholders to ensure injuries are managed proactively, compliantly, and with care - driving both strong people outcomes and operational continuity.

Reporting to the Head of Safety & Wellbeing, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end injury management and return-to-work processes across multiple sites
  • Act as a trusted advisor, coaching leaders to confidently manage injury and RTW outcomes
  • Partner with employees, treating practitioners, and insurers to support safe and sustainable recovery
  • Ensure timely reporting, claims management, and legislative compliance
  • Analyse trends and claims data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement
  • Champion our ‘We Care Early Intervention’ program

About you

You’re experienced, pragmatic, and confident influencing at all levels. You balance compliance with care and focus on achieving meaningful outcomes - not just managing process.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in injury management and return-to-work, ideally in a complex or multi-site environment
  • A relevant qualification in RTW, WHS, allied health, or a related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of workers compensation and injury management frameworks
  • Experience coaching leaders and managing sensitive or complex situations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and drive accountability
  • Experience using data and insights to improve performance and outcomes
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Tasmania as required
