Position Type: Permanent Full time Position (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)
Salary Range: LGO 2-3 ( $64,201 - $77,515 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience
Location: Townsville

The purpose of this position is to provide administration and governance functions for all responsibilities within the section. The role will work in collaboration with other administrative teams to ensure professional support services are provided consistently. The role will do this by providing timely, efficient and effective support, primarily to ensure that this aligns with legislative and regulatory requirements, whilst ensuring that quality and attention to detail are not sacrificed.
Staff in this role must be adaptable to an environment which has many competing and shifting deadlines and priorities. This role will act as the key interface with the Customer Service area within Council and be the primary point of contact for customer enquiries for the section.
Qualifications And Experience
- Qualifications commensurate with Certificate IV in Business/ Business Administration/ Frontline Management or similar competency
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a customer and/or administrative support service role
Our ideal candidate will have a high level of adaptability and the proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision. You will have the ability to identify and prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment, to achieve specific outcomes with accuracy and within strict legislative timeframes.
Desirably, you will bring a sound understanding of Council Local Laws, policies and relevant legislation administered by Environmental Health and Regulation such as timeframes, applications, inspections, offences and associated notices.
You are a proactive problem solver with highly developed analytical skills, able to exercise sound judgement and initiative in situations where procedures are not clearly defined. You understand the principles of adult learning and can apply these when supporting or training staff. You embrace change with a flexible mindset, recognising opportunities for continuous improvement by supporting and/or leading the development of more efficient processes, practices and procedures.
