As an Operational Risk Consultant, you’ll help uplift the way our Retail Insurance teams understand and manage risk. You’ll join a team that’s hands on, collaborative and trusted to guide the business through the complexities of operational and compliance risk. This is a permanent full-time role based in multiple locations across Australia.

What You'll Do

• Support the uplift of operational risk maturity by applying IAG’s Risk Management Strategy, Framework and methodologies.
• Partner with business owners to identify, assess and manage operational and compliance risks across Retail Insurance.
• Conduct control testing, risk based assurance reviews and help shape continuous improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate and triage risk events, issues and escalations while supporting timely investigations and reporting.
• Maintain accurate risk data in ServiceNow and contribute to risk forums, compliance plans and business unit reporting.
• Coach stakeholders to build risk capability and promote a strong, proactive risk culture.
• Assist with risk profiling, control self-assessment planning and regulatory breach management activities.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in operational risk, compliance or assurance within insurance, banking or financial services.
• Ability to analyse risk data, identify root causes and provide practical, evidence based insights.
• Confidence engaging with senior leaders and influencing decisions in a fast paced environment.
• Understanding of key regulatory obligations and how effective controls support compliance.
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow is advantageous
• Relevant Tertiary Qualification/s in Economics/Accounting/Finance/Law or related field or Industry Qualification e.g. ANZIIF, AS/NZS ISO are desirable
