About The Role

Whitehaven Coal is seeking a Commercial Manager for our Gunnedah Open Cut Operations. Lead the commercial team, drive budgets, manage audits, and support site projects. This Monday-Friday role offers the opportunity to discuss DIDO arrangements that suit the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the commercial team, including the Commercial Superintendent, Senior Administrator, and Warehouse Coordinator
  • Oversee budgeting, reforecasting, cost control, and financial reporting for the Gunnedah Open Cut Operations
  • Administer budgets for construction, development, and operational projects, ensuring cost-effective outcomes
  • Maintain internal controls and data integrity across financial and commercial systems
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to Whitehaven, Joint Venture members, and auditors
  • Support commercial aspects of projects, contracts, and operational initiatives to reduce risk and maximise value

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting with an understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Professional membership (CA or CPA)
  • Significant leadership experience in a commercial role, ideally within mining operations
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and financial reporting in a multi-site or operational environment
  • Strong analytical skills, Excel modelling, and experience with systems such as Pulse (desirable) or TM1
