Job description

Research Services Administrator

Research Services Administrator

  • 561800

  • Canberra / ACT, ACT, Australia, 2601

  • Casual

  • Closing at: Apr 15 2026 - 23:55 AEST

Classification: ANU Officer 4 (Administration)
Salary package: $54.30 - $58.75 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading) plus 12.5% superannuation
Terms: Casual (multiple roles available)

The Position

The Research Services Administrator provides administrative assistance to the Systems and Data Quality Team, contributing to the efficient and effective service delivery in the administration and promotion of Research Portal+ and ARIES. The role includes data entry and cleaning, stakeholder engagement through functional inboxes and minor project tasks. The successful candidates will gain experience with research administration systems and processes, with opportunities to engage with academic and professional staff under supervision.

The role will have particular involvement in the following projects:

  • Research Portal+: A major data improvement project and work to enhance the knowledge base and improve accessibility of the system. This entails a significant increase in data entry and record‐management requirements.
  • ARIES replacement: The existing Research Management System (ARIES) is being discontinued. A large data‐cleaning project is underway and a future data‐migration project will require additional work as well.

These casual positions will mostly be assisting with the backlogs within the team, but also offer the opportunity to learn about data management within a complex organisation such as ANU.

The Research Services Administrators will be part of the Systems and Data Quality Team in the Office of Research and Information Services

The Person

You will join a small team of data administrators and must be prepared to work through large volumes of data entry under supervision. Ideal candidates are motivated to learn about administration in the university sector.

Current HDR candidates and other ANU students are strongly encouraged to apply.
