The Role

The ABC is looking for an experienced reporter to join the Kimberley news team. In this role, you’ll create compelling content for local and national audiences across digital, radio and television platforms. You’ll work collaboratively with a passionate regional team to break stories, build strong community connections, and deliver high-quality journalism that reflects the diversity of Australia.

The Job

  • Research, produce and present engaging news content across broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Break exclusive and original stories using contacts, research and investigative techniques.
  • Deliver interviews, Q&As, bulletins and packages for multiple platforms.
  • Build strong relationships and actively engage with the Kimberley community to source stories.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Regional WA News to share ideas and expertise.
  • Contribute to local emergency coverage and support critical news delivery when required.

About You

You’re a driven and curious journalist who thrives on uncovering stories that matter and connecting with diverse communities.

You'll have:

  • Proven experience breaking impactful news stories and developing strong source networks.
  • Strong editorial judgement with the ability to deliver engaging content across multiple platforms.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
