We are seeking several Mental Health Support Workers to join our Community and Mission team across the NENW based in Tamworth, Armidale & Inverall. This role provides recovery-focused, community-based support to adults living with long-term mental health conditions who are not funded under the NDIS.

Working within a strengths-based, person-centred model, you will support individuals to build skills, increase independence, and remain connected to their communities. You will collaborate with internal teams and external service providers across the New England Northwest region to support positive outcomes and improved quality of life.

Key responsibilities

  • Support individuals to achieve personal goals and improve wellbeing

  • Assist with daily living, social, and recreational activities

  • Promote community access, inclusion, and participation

  • Provide practical assistance, advocacy, and capacity building

  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to service quality

  • Participate in training, safety, and professional development

  • Travel across regional locations as required

Skills and experience

  • Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent experience

  • Experience supporting people with mental health or psychosocial needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel

  • Ability to meet probity requirements (Police Check, WWCC)
