About the Role

As a Home Loan Settlements Officer, you’ll play a key part in ensuring new lending is settled smoothly, accurately and on time.

You’ll manage settlement activity end-to-end — checking documentation, confirming conditions are met, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring funding is released in line with customer requirements, legal obligations and internal policy.

You’ll be responsible for reviewing legal and settlement documents to ensure they’re correctly executed and compliant, validating invoices and evidence requirements (such as insurance and clear title/ownership evidence where relevant), and making sure records and data entry are accurate in the system.

You’ll liaise with internal bank staff and external parties to clear any outstandings prior to settlement, and you’ll keep communication clear, professional and timely so everyone knows what’s needed and where things are up to.

This role also requires strong risk awareness and a commitment to compliance — including adherence to legislative requirements such as privacy, AML obligations and responsible lending frameworks — while consistently meeting service agreement timeframes.

If you’re working within BOQ’s digital home loan settlement workflow, you’ll be supporting the settlement and funding stage as the final step in the home loan lifecycle, working across core platforms and procedures used for digital settlement activities.

About you

You are organized, detail-driven and calm under pressure — someone who enjoys working through structured processes and takes pride in getting it right the first time.

You’re confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, can juggle competing deadlines, and you know how important accuracy is when handling settlement documentation and funds movement.

Ideally, you’ll bring experience in settlements, documentation or loan/finance operations, along with strong numeracy and literacy skills and solid capability using everyday systems.

You work well in a team, can operate without constant supervision, check your own work thoroughly, and you’re committed to completing mandatory training and following policy and procedure.
