Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)

Salary Range: LGO6 ( $102,640 - $109,563 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

Location: Townsville

About The Role

As Team Leader Business Support, you will lead a team responsible for delivering efficient, accurate and compliant business administration services across a diverse portfolio including Council’s library, gallery, theatre, community venues, grants and events services. You will oversee key administrative and financial support functions, including reconciliation and settlement processes, ensuring high standards of governance, reporting and service delivery.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will drive process improvements through innovation, technology and best practice, while providing expert advice and support on business and financial administration matters. You will also foster a collaborative, caring and high-performing team culture focused on customer service, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

About You

  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to build and support a high-performing team.
  • Qualifications in business, accounting or a related field, or significant equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Strong experience providing high-level business administration and financial support.
  • Well-developed financial reconciliation, reporting and governance skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach, mentor and support stakeholders.
  • Strong IT and records management skills, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
  • A demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety and compliance.
