  • Monday to Friday day shift
  • Previous experience in operational rostering, logistical planning and using rostering systems

About the role:

As a Crew Rostering Officer, you’ll play a key role in creating and maintaining efficient rosters for operational staff, ensuring compliance, safety, and service delivery across multiple Aurizon locations.

  • Prepare and manage efficient rosters, including leave rosters, for Operational Staff including Locomotive Drivers and Terminal Staff in line with rostering principles and relevant Enterprise Agreements
  • Ensure compliance with the Rail Safety Management System, including fatigue risk management and operational readiness
  • Support crew efficiency through proactive rostering and use of the Crew Rostering Model
  • Coordinate training and assessment schedules in collaboration with Training and Operations teams
  • Monitor operational demands and adjust crew deployment, resource allocation, and service plans as needed
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives and support the team in meeting performance targets

About you:
You’re a detail-oriented team player with a strong safety mindset and a passion for efficient planning.

  • Proven commitment to safety and demonstrated safe working behaviours
  • Experience in operational rostering, logistics planning and rostering systems, and (ideally) systems testing
  • Strong administrative and IT skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel and rostering software
  • Excellent time management, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Flexible, collaborative, and able to remain calm under pressure
