About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the ABC’s Commercial team, supporting the rights and contracts functions that underpin the distribution of ABC programs and music content locally and internationally.

Working closely with the Contracts Executive and broader ABC Commercial team, you’ll assist with rights assessments and database management, generating reports and interpreting data to support content sales, acquisitions and licensing activities.

It is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role suited to someone who enjoys working with systems, analysing data, and developing a strong understanding of how commercial media deals operate, within a supportive and results-driven team environment.

You will:

  • Review content deals and rights agreements to confirm availability of rights
  • Check proposed sales and licensing arrangements against existing sales agreements
  • Maintain accurate rights and contract information within rights management systems, identify and resolve inconsistencies
  • Prepare rights availability, sales and reporting information for internal stakeholders
  • Assist with general administration duties as required

About You

You are curious, detail-oriented and highly organised, with an interest in media, rights, contracts or commercial operations. You enjoy working with systems and information, can confidently interpret written material and are comfortable asking questions to clarify complex details.

This role could suit a candidate with a media, communications, or business administration background, or someone who has experience in content sales or a contracts administrator looking to build a career in media and rights management.

You’ll bring:

  • Excellent administrative, organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Advanced MS Suite and general computer skills with confidence working across systems and databases
  • The ability to analyse information, identify inconsistencies and solve problems proactively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in contracts administration, rights management, media operations or sales support, relevant tertiary qualifications in media, communications or similar, desirable
  • Experience using rights management systems such as Rightsline, highly regarded
