About the role

This trainee position offers a structured pathway for students to translate academic learning into real-world clinical practice within a busy Nuclear Medicine department. You will be embedded in a supportive team environment, contributing to patient care while progressively building technical capability and professional confidence. Working under direct supervision, you will assist with the preparation, delivery and post-procedure aspects of nuclear medicine services, ensuring all activities align with departmental protocols, safety standards and best practice guidelines.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Work under the guidance of Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologists to develop knowledge, skills and expertise in Nuclear Medicine services.
  • Actively continue to pursue education and training through an Australian accredited program of study leading to Registration in the profession.
  • Under supervision, perform nuclear medicine examinations and associated tasks in accordance with Department Imaging Standing orders, work unit guidelines, professional accreditation standards and relevant Queensland Health policies
  • Work within a clinical scope of practice that is aligned with the level of knowledge and technical skill of current tertiary studies.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the team regarding patient care and progress.
