The Role

ABC News is looking for a Presenter to join our team in Dubbo or Orange, playing a key role in telling compelling local stories for audiences across the Central West, Western Plains and beyond.

Based in Dubbo or Orange, you’ll present Saturday Breakfast and content across audio and digital platforms, working closely with editorial colleagues to reflect the voices, diversity and issues of the local community. This role operates on a two-week roster cycle and involves studio presentation, production responsibilities and collaboration across ABC News teams.

The Job

  • Present and produce original, engaging content for ABC Central West and Western Plains across multiple platforms.
  • Create local stories that can be shared across state and national ABC News platforms.
  • Actively engage with communities to find stories that reflect cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity.
  • Contribute to local emergency coverage and liaise with relevant stakeholders when required.
  • Cross-promote other ABC content to increase audience reach and engagement.

Position Description:

About You

You’re an accomplished content maker with a passion for storytelling and a strong connection to local communities.

You'll have:

  • Proven program-making skills, with experience creating engaging audio and cross-platform content.
  • Strong editorial judgement, with the ability to source, analyse and assess information in a fast paced news environment.
  • Available 8 hours per week, including Saturdays 6-10 am
