  • Fixed term contract to 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to organisational requirements and funding
  • Full time 36.25 hours per week
  • HEWL 5 $78,740 - $89,310 +17% super & excellent benefits

About the role

James Cook University (JCU) is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Clinical Training Support Officer to support the delivery of clinical education within the College of Medicine and Dentistry.

In this role, you will coordinate student clinical placements and provide essential administrative and operational support to academic and clinical staff across hospital, community and health service settings. You will play a key role in ensuring effective clinical training arrangements and positive experiences for students, staff and external partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate student clinical placements, including rostering, scheduling and resource preparation
  • Liaise with academic staff, clinicians and external health providers to support clinical training activities
  • Provide administrative support across clinical training operations, including recruitment, examinations and events
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, responding to enquiries and supporting stakeholder needs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and service delivery within the clinical training function

You are a proactive and organised professional with strong customer service and communication skills. You thrive in a high-volume environment and are able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

You will also bring:

  • Relevant experience aligned to HEWL 5, with demonstrated administrative and coordination capability
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality customer service and managing enquiries with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems, with strong data entry and record management skills
