Our award winning cafe offers breakfast, lunch, extensive catering & stylish functions. Our cafe celebrates fresh seasonal produce, beautifully presented & served in a stylish setting. About the Role: We are seeking a talented Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team at Edmonds & Greer. This full-time role is ideal for a creative & detail-oriented individual passionate about modern Australian café cuisine. You will support our Head Chef in executing our ever changing seasonal menu, leading service during high-volume hours, & ensuring each dish is delivered with finesse & care. Location: Oatley, NSW Salary range: $70,000-$80,000 (based on work experience & skillset) Role: Full-time You will be responsible for Preparing & presenting a variety of fresh, high-quality dishes in line with Edmonds & Greer's seasonal & creative menu concepts. Collaborating with our Head Chef & other Chefs in our team to develop innovative recipes & maintain visually inspiring presentation standards. Planning & developing menus, estimating food & labour costs, & ordering supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations & cost control. Ensuring food safety & accommodating special dietary needs, such as allergies & intolerances, while complying with all food safety & sanitation regulations. Demonstrating & advising on cooking techniques, contributing to staff training & development, & assisting in recruitment & induction processes. Maintaining careful food storage, kitchen cleanliness, & safety standards. Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, & taste, to ensure the menu is presented in a creative & professional manner. Minimising waste & maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure the kitchen operates profitably & smoothly. Developing & managing service procedures & timings alongside the Head Chef & Chef team to ensure efficient kitchen operation & timely service. Qualifications, Skills & Experience: To succeed in this role, you will need: Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma in Hospitality (Extensive experience may substitute for formal qualifications.) At least 2 years of experience working as a Chef in high-volume, quality-focused dining venues. Proven expertise in café-style cuisine, including breakfast/lunch dishes. Additional experience with catering or functions & events service looked on favourably. Previous experience in Australian kitchens is essential, familiarity with local standards & guest expectations. Proven creativity in modern Australian dishes. Strong communication & teamwork abilities, with a calm and professional demeanor under pressure. Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, & kitchen operations. Flexibility to work across weekdays & weekends according to roster requirements. Passion for delivering an exceptional culinary experience with attention to detail & visual presentation.
