Role Title : Carpenter & Joiner Employment Type : Full Time, Permanent Company Name : M G Caravans Pty Ltd (Voyager Caravans) Remuneration : A$80,000 – 90,000 p.a Division : Production / Manufacturing Number of direct reports : NA Location : Campbellfield Start Date : 15th June 2026 Reports to : Production Supervisor / Workshop Manager Apply by : 10th May 2025 About the Role: Become a key contributor in a dynamic and skilled manufacturing team as a Carpenter & Joiner. This role offers the opportunity to apply your craftsmanship, technical ability, and problem‑solving skills in constructing high‑quality caravan structures and interior fittings. From interpreting drawings to precision assembly, your work will directly support the production of durable, well‑crafted caravans. Core Responsibilities: • Interpret drawings, measurements, and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures. • Select, measure, mark, cut, and shape timber, wood products, laminates, plastics, perspex, and light metals. • Assemble and nail cut and shaped parts to form structural components and interior fittings. • Erect framework, panelised systems, and roof framing in accordance with production plans. • Lay sub‑flooring and floorboards, ensuring accuracy, level, and structural integrity. • Install doors, windows, flooring, wall cladding, fascia panels, and other fixtures. • Fabricate and assemble prepared timber components into complete structures ready for installation. • Perform precision joinery, including cutting wood joints and preparing components for assembly. • Repair or replace existing fittings, fixtures, and structural components as required. • Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop machinery in safe working condition. • Lift, move, and position materials safely following manual‑handling procedures. • Collaborate with tradespeople, assemblers, and production staff to ensure efficient workflow. • Follow all workplace safety requirements, quality‑control procedures, and organisational policies. Job Tasks: • Ensure all components meet operational and quality standards through accurate measurement, alignment, and finishing. • Maintain detailed logs of work performed, materials used, and any repairs or adjustments completed. • Participate in safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and compliance activities. • Assist in training colleagues on safe tool use, workshop procedures, and best‑practice carpentry techniques. • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality. • Work with supervisors and team members to resolve construction challenges and implement effective solutions. • Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and efficiently. • Handle materials, equipment, and components in accordance with safety and manual‑handling procedures. • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and hazard‑free work environment. Key Qualifications: • Strong foundation in carpentry and joinery, including cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing timber structures. • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and production plans. • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery. • Understanding of materials such as timber, laminates, plastics, perspex, and light metals. • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and compliance requirements. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. Desirable: • Experience in caravan manufacturing, cabinetry, or structural timber work. • Familiarity with CNC machinery or automated cutting equipment. • Additional training in workplace safety or construction compliance.
