About the role

As a Digital Product Designer, you’ll lead the design of end-to-end experiences across AGL’s digital products and services. Combining strong UX thinking with refined UI craft, you’ll bring mature product judgement and a pragmatic, hands-on approach to delivering high-quality, customer-centred outcomes.

You’ll play a key role in shaping solutions from discovery through to delivery—guiding problem definition, influencing direction, and ensuring experiences are intuitive, accessible, and commercially effective. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers, you’ll drive alignment and elevate design quality across the team.

In this role, you’ll also mentor and support junior designers, helping to grow their capability through coaching, feedback, and leading by example. You’ll contribute to evolving design practices, champion the use of AI to enhance speed and quality, and help build a strong, collaborative design culture.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead end-to-end design from discovery through to delivery, shaping problems into intuitive, high-quality solutions
  • Drive discovery activities (workshops, interviews, testing) to uncover insights and define clear design direction
  • Design seamless, accessible experiences with strong UX thinking and refined UI craft
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineers to deliver feasible, scalable solutions with quality outcomes
  • Use AI and data-backed insights to inform decisions, iterate quickly, and influence stakeholders with clarity

About you:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating product design across UX and UI, including discovery, end-to-end thinking, and polished interfaces
  • Proven experience running or co-leading discovery, turning ambiguity into clear, testable design directions
  • Deep understanding of interaction design, UI systems and patterns, accessibility, and human-centred design practices
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including prototyping and working with design systems
  • Practical experience integrating AI into your design workflow
  • Strong attention to detail across both experience and interface design, with clear communication and stakeholder influence

At AGL, we offer a wide range of benefits including:

  • Flexible working options including hybrid work.
  • Discounts on energy, telcos and solar plans.
  • Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program.
  • Access 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer.
  • Access to an additional week of recharge leave per year.
  • Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives.
  • Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions.
  • Access to study assistance, AGL’s share purchase plan and insurance deals.
