About us: 8T8 Broadway Pty Ltd. trading as Ciao Italia Express is a well-established Italian food outlet specialising in takeaway and delivery services located at Shop 17A, 1-7 Marshall Road, Myaree, Western Australia, 6154. We are known for offering authentic Italian cuisine, including a wide variety of pizzas, pastas, seafood dishes, and traditional desserts. With a steady flow of customers and growing demand, we are currently seeking a full-time Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining our high-quality standards, ensuring efficient kitchen operations, and supporting our continued business growth. Main Duties and Responsibilities: The appointee will be required to carry out all duties associated with the position of a Cook in an efficient and professional manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Preparing and cooking a range of Italian dishes, including pasta, pizza, seafood, and meat-based items, in accordance with the restaurant’s menu. • Ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes by following standard recipes and plating guidelines. • Assisting in the preparation of sauces, pizza bases, and other menu components to maintain authentic Italian flavours. • Performing daily kitchen preparation (mise-en-place) to ensure smooth service during operational hours. • Monitoring food preparation and cooking processes to ensure high-quality output at all times. • Checking the quality of raw ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and dairy products, before use. • Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, pizza ovens, and stovetops while maintaining correct cooking temperatures. • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment in line with food safety standards. • Adhering to HACCP guidelines, including proper storage, labelling, and handling of food items. • Preventing cross-contamination by ensuring proper separation and storage of raw and cooked food items. • Managing stock rotation and assisting in monitoring inventory levels to ensure availability of fresh ingredients. • Assisting with receiving deliveries and storing goods in compliance with food safety requirements. • Supporting menu development by contributing ideas for new dishes and seasonal menu variations. • Training and assisting junior kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food preparation and kitchen procedures. • Ensuring efficient workflow and maintaining performance during busy service periods. • Preparing specialty menu items such as wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta dishes, seafood meals, and traditional Italian desserts. Personal & Professional Attributes • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery. • Minimum three years of relevant experience in a similar role. • Strong understanding of Italian cuisine will be highly regarded. • Positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently as well as in a team. • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
