Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)

Salary Range: Base Salary $79,414 - $85,123 per annum + super

Location: Garbutt Operations Centre - Garbutt

Working within the Property Fleet and Emergency Management section, this role provides practical administrative coordination and day‑to‑day leadership support to the Property Management team, particularly during disaster response and recovery activities.

You will support disaster preparedness, document control and evidence collation in line with Disaster Relief Funding Arrangement (DRFA) requirements, while delivering responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including Council staff, government representatives and elected members. The position is responsible for managing service requests and work orders, record keeping, correspondence, scheduling, procurement and reporting to support operational outcomes.

You will take a lead in promoting good records management practices, verifying contractor and consultant compliance within Council’s Contractor Management System, and using business systems effectively. Importantly, this role supports team capability by mentoring colleagues, sharing knowledge and identifying process improvements, while promoting a strong service culture.

Qualifications And Experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or similar, or substantial experience in an administrative, financial, safety or asset management discipline across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in supporting the delivery and establishment of process improvement practices.
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills that allow for successful outcomes when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High-level written and numeracy skills to enable the production of well-structured documentation, including business correspondence, recommendations and performance reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in digital productivity tools including the full Microsoft Office suite with demonstrated capacity to utilise these skills to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in the use of financial and administrative enterprise systems such as CES and CiAnywhere, with proven ability to navigate, interpret and utilise system data.
  • Current “C” class drivers’ licence.
