The Position

The Administration Officer will support day-to-day HR, finance and student administration activities, including responding to enquiries, assisting with recruitment and onboarding program processes, financial administration and providing logistical support for coursework administration.

Working in a busy and supportive team environment, this position works closely with academic and professional staff and contributes to smooth and responsive service delivery, accurate record-keeping and clear communication with students, staff and central service areas. This position suits a proactive and highly organised communicator who enjoys building connections, supporting collaborative research environments and contributing to the College’s positive profile across the humanities and social sciences.

The Person

We are looking for an organised and approachable team member with strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to supporting academics and students. You will have good communication skills, confidence using digital and administrative systems, and the ability to manage competing priorities. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced academic environment, with well-developed IT skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, students and visitors. Experience in HR, finance, customer service or office administration will be highly regarded.

The College

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of six Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both.
