About the role

This role is responsible for developing and delivering targeted support to individuals, households, and communities to strengthen disaster resilience and preparedness. You will work directly with communities and sector stakeholders to increase understanding of disaster impacts, promote preparedness and resilience measures, and support the psychosocial wellbeing of people affected by disasters.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in disaster resilience, emergency management, community development, or a related field
  • Strong skills in developing and facilitating training, workshops, and community resources
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound analytical, evaluation, and problem-solving ability, with confidence using data to inform practice
  • The ability to work with autonomy, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communities
  • Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships across sectors
  • Relevant qualifications in emergency management, community development, social sciences, or equivalent experience

A current Australian Drivers licence and Working with Children Check are mandatory requirements of this role.

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 5. Salary from $100,776.00 + superannuation + salary packaging.
