Details: The Assistant Director, Learning, Education and Awareness is a senior role within the Information Design, Education and Communication Team, supporting the Professional Standards Unit (PSU) and the Public

Sector Standards Commissioner (PSSC). The role is responsible for strengthening whole‑of‑government capability in workplace issues and misconduct prevention, early intervention and education, across the ACTPS.

The position is responsible for the design, development and delivery of an integrated learning, education and awareness program , informed by insights drawn from misconduct investigations, workforce data, and emerging integrity risks. This includes building a learning ecosystem comprising digital learning, face‑to‑face and virtual delivery, practical resources, and just‑in‑time guidance for diverse ACTPS audiences.

This is an embedded role within the PSU. The occupant is expected to proactively and rapidly build a strong working understanding of PSSC and PSU policies, processes, legislative context and integrity standards. The occupant will be expected to rapidly build strong relationships with PSU staff to gain insights into the work they do in order to tailor accurate and effective learning solutions. While subject‑matter expertise will develop over time, the role requires a high degree of self‑directed learning and the ability to independently draft learning content , with subject matter expert (SME) review undertaken as a quality assurance step prior to release.

Eligibility/Other Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in education, learning design, organisational development or a related field, or equivalent experience, are highly desirable.
  • Educational and professional qualifications checks may be undertaken prior to employment.
  • National Police Check will be conducted prior to employment.
  • This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au)
