The position of Administration Officer will: • Provide the function of administrative support to the clinical staff of the Mt Gravatt child and youth mental health team. • Responsible for providing, developing and maintaining an efficient, effective, ethical and confidential administrative, secretarial and reception support service to the Team Leader and other Clinical and Department Staff. The position must communicate and provide accurate and timely information in assisting staff, clients and external agencies.

About the Team

The Integrated Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provides complex secondary and tertiary level health care. CYMHS offers specialised mental health services for families with children and young people (birth to 18 years) who experience severe and complex mental health problems, and where their needs cannot be met by other services. CYMHS provides a comprehensive, recovery-orientated mental healthcare service that aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people and their carer networks. Recovery principles are embedded into service delivery, culture and practice, providing consumers and their families, in collaboration with other services, access and referral to a range of programs that will support and sustain recovery. CYMHS combines hospital and community-based facilities to provide free consultation, assessment and treatment of children and young people experiencing serious mental health disorders and problems with their carer network.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework (PDF) and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Coordinate and provide effective administrative and reception support to vulnerable children and families accessing the service, as well as to the clinical staff.
  • Provide administrative support for the management of referrals, appointments and audits using Smart Referrals and SharePoint.
  • Work collaboratively and supportively with other administration and reception staff to support the operations of the child and youth mental health service and the children and families accessing the services
  • Support clinic with expense claims and petty cash reconciliation.
  • Calendars of the clinical staff including all room and vehicle bookings.
