Job Description
As a Merchandise Planner, you’ll partner with category and buying teams to develop and execute commercial plans that optimise sales, margins, and inventory performance.
You’ll bring a strong analytical mindset and commercial curiosity, identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and driving smarter decisions across the business.
You’ll also lead and develop a direct report, contributing to building capability within the team.
Qualifications
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver merchandise financial plans aligned to sales, margin and stock targets
- Own forecasting, replenishment and inventory flow strategies
- Lead monthly OTB (Open-to-Buy) processes with the buying team
- Provide performance insights through sales, inventory and trend analysis
- Identify risks, opportunities and slow-moving stock to drive improvement
- Lead post-season reviews and range analysis
- Partner with stakeholders across Merchandise, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations
- Manage clearance strategies and support promotional forecasting
- Mentor and develop a direct report
About You
You’ll be a commercially minded planner who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and enjoys working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
You Bring
- 4+ years’ experience in Merchandise Planning (essential)
- Strong understanding of Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP)
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Proven ability to analyse data and translate insights into action
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A proactive, adaptable mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
