Play a hands‐on role in building the data foundations that power trusted reporting across the business. As a Data Product Engineer within a large‐scale enterprise data transformation, you’ll focus on designing and delivering robust data pipelines and models that serve reporting and downstream analytics needs. You’ll turn complex source data into well‐structured, reliable data products. This is a build‐focused role for someone who enjoys shaping data flows, understanding how data fits together, and making sure it’s ready to be used with confidence.
This is a 12-month max-term contract role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).
What You'll Do
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that deliver high‐quality data for reporting and analytics consumption.
• Develop and refine data models that support consistent, reliable reporting across multiple releases and timelines.
• Work closely with the Data teams to align data solutions with reporting requirements and broader platform design.
• Review upstream data designs and identify impacts on downstream data models and service layers.
• Partner with engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and evolve data structures.
• Contribute to delivery planning, stand‐ups, and program updates within a fast‐moving transformation environment.
What You'll Bring
• Proven experience building data pipelines and data models in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong SQL capability, with hands‐on experience using modern data platforms such as BigQuery and dbt.
• Solid understanding of data modelling principles and how data is consumed for reporting and analytics.
• Experience working with CI/CD‐enabled data engineering practices and production‐grade pipelines.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
• Exposure to financial services, insurance, or large transformation programs is desirable but not essential.
