The Role

This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team providing specialist rehabilitation and injury management support across the organisation. The Rehabilitation Case Manager is responsible for delivering advice, guidance and people management solutions to managers and employees in relation to workplace rehabilitation and injury management matters.

The role works closely with key stakeholders to coordinate medical rehabilitation and injury management services, ensuring support is delivered in line with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and best practice frameworks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage all appropriate injury claims relating to ABC employees.
  • Maintain a constructive and professional approach when liaising with employees, managers, treating practitioners, Workplace Rehabilitation Providers, Comcare claims staff and other stakeholders involved in the injury management process.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees participating in medical rehabilitation programs and assist with rehabilitation management strategies where required.
  • Coordinate Workplace Rehabilitation Provider services for injured or ill employees, including monitoring activities and maintaining regular communication to support rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and external rehabilitation providers to support positive injury management outcomes.
  • Manage and monitor early intervention initiatives aimed at reducing workers compensation claims and improving rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Deliver and support training initiatives for employees and managers relating to rehabilitation, injury management and associated workplace processes.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including DE&I Business Partners and WHS teams, to support rehabilitation service delivery and injury management outcomes.
  • Contribute to project work focused on improving policies, procedures and rehabilitation practices across the organisation.
  • Follow all reasonable workplace health and safety directions, policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in rehabilitation, injury management or case management environments.
  • Tertiary Allied Health qualifications with specific skills in rehabilitation/injury management/ergonomics
  • Extensive workplace rehabilitation experience and an evidence-based approach to proactive injury management with outstanding knowledge of the Commonwealth rehabilitation and injury management process and relevant legislation, SRC Act (1988).
  • Well versed in workplace rehabilitation with a proactive and evidence-based approach to injury management.
  • Sound understanding of workers compensation, rehabilitation and injury management processes.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Well-developed communication, consultation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and case workloads.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
