The Opportunity
At Crown, strong workplace relations governance is critical to operating responsibly in a complex, highly regulated environment. As Workplace Relations Policy & Compliance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of Crown’s workplace relations control framework, ensuring employment decisions across the organisation are consistent, defensible and compliant.
This is a senior specialist role for an experienced workplace relations or employment law professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of policy, compliance, risk and governance. Partnering closely with Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, Investigations, Legal and Payroll Governance teams, you’ll provide authoritative interpretation and assurance that supports confident, enterprise wide decision making.
The role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Perth.
What You’ll Do
- Own and maintain Crown’s Workplace Relations policy framework, including enterprise policies, standards and interpretation positions
- Act as the single source of truth for workplace relations policy interpretation, ensuring clarity, consistency and defensibility across the organisation
- Monitor legislative, regulatory and case law developments and lead the structured implementation of change into WR policies and standards
- Design and oversee the Workplace Relations compliance framework, embedding controls into ER, IR and investigation activities
- Provide expert interpretation guidance to Employee Relations, Industrial Relations and Investigations teams on complex or sensitive matters
- Identify systemic or emerging compliance risks and lead remediation governance, assurance and reporting
- Partner closely with Payroll Governance & Compliance to ensure correct interpretation of employment and industrial obligations impacting pay
- Ensure WR policies and controls align with psychosocial hazard obligations and Respect@Work positive duty reforms
- Represent Workplace Relations Policy & Compliance in audit, governance and regulatory engagements as required
What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience in workplace relations policy, compliance, governance or employment law roles
- Deep understanding of employment legislation, industrial instruments and regulatory obligations in complex environments
- Proven ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, enterprise wide standards and guidance
- Strong risk, compliance and judgement capability, with experience operating within assurance or audit frameworks
- Confidence partnering with ER, IR, Investigations, Legal and Payroll governance teams
- Well developed stakeholder engagement and influence skills across senior and technical audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to document and defend interpretation positions
- Tertiary qualifications in Employment Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or a related discipline
- Eligibility to meet regulatory and licensing requirements relevant to the role location
