The Role

This is a 5.5-month, part-time contract (3 days per week) supporting Radio National’s business program.

In this role, you’ll write and produce well-researched briefs that bring national and international business stories to life for our audience. You’ll stay across the latest developments, connect with a diverse range of guests, and help shape engaging, informative content from idea through to broadcast.

You'll carry out studio production, communicating clearly with the presenter to incorporate new developments in stories and to reduce on air faults. You’ll also contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment, participating in program team meetings, fostering a constructive climate of feedback and discussion to enhance productivity and morale within the team.

Position Description: 30005093 PRODUCER

About You

You’re a creative and curious storyteller with a strong ability to identify original ideas and turn them into engaging, high-quality content. You bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach that supports open, creative teamwork.

You have hands-on experience in audio production, including desktop editing and studio equipment, along with familiarity with broadcast systems such as Netia, Reaper, Core Media 10 and ENPS. Your advanced research and writing skills, combined with strong editorial judgement, allow you to translate complex issues into compelling stories.

You’re also confident building and maintaining a diverse network of contacts across the Australian community to ensure a wide range of perspectives are represented.

We would love to see your work. Please submit material with your application online (include examples, links to websites or attach audio/video files up to 5MB).
